Rohingya Abductions and Betrayal
Rohingya Solidarity Organisation conscription in the Rohingya camps.
Imagine your son being forcibly taken at gunpoint, handed over to a brutal military, and then abandoned by those who should protect you. This is the grim reality for three Rohingya families I interviewed, whose sons - Zakir, Rohmat Ali, and Yunus - were abducted by the Rohingya Solidarity Organisation (RSO) and delivered into the hands of the Myanmar military.
These men were more than just victims; they were pillars of their families, integral to their survival and well-being. The tragedy doesn’t end with their abduction. Refugee camp authorities, instead of offering protection, are colluding with the perpetrators, turning the camps into hunting grounds for conscription. One family member even described the RSO's actions as human trafficking.
My article reveals the horrifying extent of the betrayal and the dire situation faced by Rohingya youth. Read it in the Dhaka Tribune here
Read my earlier post where Ko Ko Linn, the leader of the Rohingya Solidarity Organisation (RSO), openly acknowledges the targeted capture of Rohingya youth.
And read about the meetings the RSO and ARA are holding in the camps to “mobilise youth.”
Thanks for the update
